Murray holds a BSc in Chemistry & Biology. Prior to forming Barkwith Associates in 2002 he held technical positions in both agricultural and retail businesses. A qualified Agronomist, he has been involved in chemical regulatory support for over 25 years and includes client liaison and project management within his role.

He participates in many Industry initiatives and working groups, chairing several, and is actively involved in providing feedback and opinion to Regulators.

As Managing Director, Murray welcomes the opportunity to introduce our pragmatic approach and services to new clients.

John Hislop

John has a BSc in Applied Chemistry and has worked in the regulatory field for industrial chemicals since 1994, initially at a leading CRO, focussing on the Notification of New Substances (NONS) within EU Member States.

In 2008 John was a founder member of the REACH team at a large consultancy firm and managed a large number of REACH registrations for an international client base over a period of 14 years.

John joined Barkwith Chemical in October 2023 to head up the new REACH team, focussing primarily on REACH in the UK, EU and worldwide.

John is a Ph.D. Qualified Biochemist & Molecular Biologist with a long track record in scientific business development working for several of the world’s largest CRO’s in the areas of pharmaceutical, chemical, biocide and agrochemical safety assessment.

John has a good understanding of the various Regulations and welcomes the opportunity to work with our clients on larger more complex project requiring multiple areas of support.

John joined Barkwith Chemical in 2023 as Director of Business Development.

Suzy has a BSc in Biology and 6 years experience working in regulatory affairs, specialising in EU REACH.

She has experience in dossier preparation, CLP, poison centre notifications and UK REACH. Prior to working in regulatory affairs, Suzy worked in a contract research organisation performing in vitro laboratory assays.

Suzy joined our team in 2023 as Regulatory Affairs Specialist and works alongside John Hislop, supporting our Chemical Regulatory Services.
